People: Up until just recently, I had never purposely seeked out the presence of humans within my photographs, for many various reasons… unless they’re ghosts. Yet every now and then, a moment would occur where I’d have wished for there to be ‘someone’ within the image to complete the captured moment.
I was standing on this corner wondering which direction to head in (headphones on, listening to music - oblivious) when this lady and her pup passed by on the sidewalk without me even hearing them. I momentarily paused before realising that she was that ’someone’ to complete the moment…
Biting my lip, the shutter ‘clacked’, followed by her turning around to look straight at me. I felt a rush of slight panic so I faked an awkward smile. She then slowly turned and walked away…
Voila - the first deliberate photo of a human I’d taken in over 5 years.
More to come.
